I've never actually watched an inauguration. Never really cared, until this election. And I'm assuming the tone surrounding this one is not usual. That said, some thoughts:
- The "VIP" section is sort of amusing. Dustin Hoffman? John Cusack? Really?
- Wolf Blitzer should wear a muzzle. Among his idiotic remarks that I heard: re: the Presidential motorcade: "It's a Cadillac. It's an American car." Re: Statuary Hall in the Capitol: "It's called statuary hall for a reason. There are many statues there."
- Anderson Cooper sounds thoroughly annoyed with Wolf 99% of the time.
- The enormity of the scene in Washington was overwhelming. It made me incredibly homesick for our nation's capital, though not at all homesick for the metro.
- Mrs. Biden's snazzy red coat and black boots! You go Mrs. Biden! Mrs. Obama also look stunning, as usual.
- I'm just hopeful. There's no other word. I'm excited to see what happens, and I'm hopeful that this new administration takes our country in the correct direction.
